Résumé :

The pork industry's contribution to Canada's balance of trade is significant. Canadian pork producers raised 31 million animals during 2005, about 35 % of which are exported to over 70 countries, bringing the total value of live hog and pork product exports to more than $2.8 billion. In addition, the number of jobs related to pork production is estimated at about 100,000, which is of major significance to the economy of the agri-food sector in Canada.
